Registration Packet

When you check-in you will receive a registration packet that includes your packet will be a class schedule and your class name badge.

Classes

Class descriptions are available on the schedule at www.beantowncamp.com/schedule by hovering over the more… links.

Dance spaces include in the Alumni Hall(C5) the Auditorium; in the Duffy Academic Center(C9) the Hemingway Theatre and room 101; in the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex(A6) (SBA) rooms 101, 103, 118, 120 and Gymnasium Court 5. Check www.beantowncamp.com/map for a map(see map numbers).

Please wear your name badge to classes and change shoes to protect the dance floors. Please leave outdoor shoes outside the dance studios of Duffy 101, SBA 101 and SBA 118. Please silence cell phones in classes! Water bottle refill stations are in the lobbies or corridors of all the buildings.

Competitions

It is not too late to sign up for the Open Mix & Match Mashup or Solo Jazz competitions! Register at check-in or at the final Mix & Match Mashup registration in the Dining Hall. See schedule for times.

Contests

There are two fun contests, Partner Soul and Team Challenge, to participate in during the Sunday evening dance. There are no contest fees and you can sign up at camp.

Meals

The Dining Hall is located in the Roche Dining Commons(A4). You are free to select any of the food choices regardless of what you put as your preference. For information on any of the dishes, ask the Bon Appétit staff in the serving area. If you have any special dietary requirements, Bon Appétit is happy to accommodate. Just introduce yourself and ask. Please take your dirty dishes to the bus station. Drink dispensers are not to be used to fill water bottles! Wednesday dinner is a special Camp BBQ in the main quad outside May Hall(c8).

Accommodations

Bed linens and towels are not provided unless you rented the linen package. There is no housekeeping service. Extra toilet paper, bin liners and bins to dispose of trash are available in the lobby of the residence halls or the laundry room. For air conditioned residence halls, keep the thermostat at 68 degrees auto-cool. This will allow the unit to operate efficiently and prevent “freezing” if turned to a lower setting. When you leave, please ensure your room furniture is arranged the way you found it, empty refrigerators, and collect trash. Please keep residence halls quiet at night.

Messages, Lost & Found

Announcements are made at meal times. Use the Facebook event page available at facebook.com/beantowncamp/events to post anything such as ride requests. A flyer table and Lost & Found box are located in the lobby of Alumni Hall(C5).

Drop Box For Keys & Meal Cards

If you are leaving outside of the scheduled checkout times, put keys in provided envelope, write your name and room number on it, and leave in the blue drop box in the lobby of Alumni Hall(C5). Add your name and room number to the log book. Beantown staff will retrieve keys and rip up deposit checks.

Sunday Dance Theme

For our dance Sunday evening, we’re adding some extra fun with a PAJAMA PARTY! So express your creativity and come dressed for the theme. Bring your coziest pajamas, fluffiest slippers (or dance shoes!), and swingiest moves—and get ready for another unforgettable night of live big band music and social dancing—keeping the energy high until we’re all sleepwalking through swingouts! Whether you’re rocking vintage sleepwear, cartoon PJs, or full glam robe energy, come ready to dance, laugh, and lounge. Bring your comfy vibes and dancing feet! Beantown Café

Beantown Café will be open in the evenings to buy soft drinks, ice cream and other snacks. A chance to sit, relax and socialize. It is located in the Sun Room on the side of Alumni Hall(C5) Auditorium  dance floor. For icing body parts, a cooler with ice and plastic bags is just outside the café.

Camp Shop

The Camp Shop offers an assortment of dance-related items. It is located in the Sunroom on the left side of Alumni Hall(C5) Auditorium dance floor. The shop takes cash and credit cards. Please bring any items you want to sell to the Camp Shop Drop-Off on Friday. Check the schedule for hours.

Camp Social

Saturday afternoon there will be a camp social in The Hill at Roche Dining Commons(A4). There will be a cash bar. Don’t miss it!

Board Games

Rob Keder will be hosting board games in Alumni Hall(C5) on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Karaoke

Karaoke will be on Monday evening hosted by Kristen Seavey and Byron Willis in The Hill at Roche Dining Commons(A4). There will be a cash bar.

Beantown Revue!

BR will be on Tuesday evening in the Hemingway Theatre in Duffy Academic Center(C9). All participants are welcome—singers, musicians, comedians, jugglers…skits…and more! Diane Ripstein is the director and will be collecting acts and ideas.

What’s Available on Campus & Local Vicinity

  • Wireless internet access is available in all campus buildings. Connect to the Guest WiFi network—there is no need for a password.
  • All residence halls have washers and dryers. Laundry machines are complimentary!
  • Residence halls and other buildings have vending machines.
  • The Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex(A6) facilities can be used after showing a photo id and signing a release form at the front desk. Included are a fitness center with weight room, racquetball courts, gymnasium with basketball courts and indoor running track. Hours of operation vary throughout the summer.
  • Campus facilities available also include Beach Volley Ball Court(A2), Outdoor Basketball Courts(A8) and Charles Watt Tennis Courts(A1).
  • Nearby there is a CVS and a Walgreens drugstore as well as Shaws and Roach Brothers grocery stores. The nearest mall is the Westgate Mall in Brockton.

Other Information

  • All camp events, including evening dances, are only open to those registered for the corresponding period.
  • Wash hands regularly, especially before meals!
  • Drink plenty of water in classes!
