The competitions are open to anyone registered for Beantown Camp. Competition registration is required in advance. Scoring will be determined based on collaboration between the judges. Awards will be given to the top three placements in each category.

Solo Jazz

This category is a non-partner division. Competitors will all dance together to a variety of tempos. Finalists will be selected to dance, possibly individually or all at the same time to a variety of tempos. This competition is sponsored by Lindy Focus and an upgradeable dance pass will be awarded to the first place winner. This competition will take place on Friday evening.

Mix & Match Mashup - New Format!

Contestants sign up individually. There will be 2 back-to-back preliminaries. Group A is for less experienced dancers in the role chosen, likely in tracks Red or Pink (possibly Orange, depending on experience). Group B is for more experienced dancers, likely in tracks Green, Yellow or Blue. You can only register for one role because the 2 preliminaries will lead to the same final. In each preliminary, contestants will be paired randomly with several partners and will dance to a variety of tempos. Finalists will be selected individually within each group. For the finals, partners will be randomly paired, one from Group A and one from Group B, and judged as a duo. Finalist pairs may be required to dance individually and at the same time as other competitors to a variety of tempos. This competition is sponsored by Canadian Swing Championships and event prizes will be awarded to first place winners. It will take place on Saturday evening.
