2005 Photo Album

We are pleased to report that the 9^th Beantown photo album is now up! We had over 2,500 photos to select from, only a few taken by us! Thank you so much to everyone who sent us photos as well as comments. We truly appreciate it and think that this year's album captures the fun we have at camp! Also check the Beantown 2005 Results page for the results of the Northeast Lindy Hop Championships. At final count we had 7 countries (Australia, Canada, England, Northern Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland and USA) represented and 26 states (AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, PA, RI, TN, TX, VA and VT)!

A week has now passed since we closed up camp for another year. We are still trying to catch up on sleep and sort through our camp follow-up, but we are feeling very happy about what a great camp it was! Every year we wonder how it could get better and somehow it does.

The new campus was a big hit and everyone seemed to like it. The hot weather came with the start of camp which made the beach a really welcome addition. The campus is beautiful and easy to walk from building to building, the food was great and the food service staff very responsive to camper requests, the evening café and game room were very popular and really added to the atmosphere. All in all, we were very pleased and enjoyed the Endicott campus immensely.

Thanks to everyone who helped us make our camp such a big success. The teachers and classes were outstanding, the bands and DJs were fabulous, Broadway Night was off-the-hook, L Boogie rocked late into the night (or morning!) and the class performances at the end of the week were so good they gave us goosebumps. There were so many great moments that we can't possibly list them all.

We would like to add an extra big thank you to our local crew who helped us to make it all possible. Special thanks to Ben, Benson, Chris, Denyce, Joe, Martin, Melanie, Meredith, Mike, Rachelle and Suzanne. Also to Dave for keeping us entertained with information that we didn't need to listen to but looked forward to every day! Plus thanks to everyone who provided rides and rooms for our visiting guests (especially Debbie who went above and beyond), and everyone who pitched in along the way.

Most of all, thanks to all of our truly fabulous campers who enabled us to have such an incredible energy and atmosphere. The most common comment we received during camp is how we get such nice people, and that is so true. The Endicott staff remarked continually about all of the smiley, happy faces. Beantown campers are just incredibly fun, friendly people! Thank you all so much! That is what makes our job worthwhile.

Beantown was fantastic, and I know you put a TON of work into it. The classes were great and the night dancing was addictive and inspiring. It gave me the jumpstart needed to feel comfortable social dancing again after my 5 or 6 years off the dance floor... Also amazing at Beantown were the friendships formed and the community spirit you've cultivated. It's the closest thing I've felt as an adult to the thrill of junior high summer camp - and I know I was not alone in feeling that... So thank you!
